€588,583 for 9 projects in Mayo through LEADER programme

Mayo Fine Gael TD Alan Dillon has welcomed the approval of €588,583 in funding for 9 businesses in Mayo. The funding for these projects will be provided by the Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys department and the Mayo LEADER Local Action Group. Eight of the projects came under the Enterprise Development category and one of the projects under Rural Tourism.

The following projects have been allocated funding:

 

Deputy Alan Dillon said “this funding will greatly help communities and organisations in Mayo to support development and improve important facilities.

The Mayo TD added “It is fantastic to see such a diverse range of themes and projects that support enterprise development and rural tourism. These grants will be instrumental to support job creation in rural areas across County Mayo.

Deputy Dillon concluded by wishing all successful applicants every success in completing their projects and urged local community groups and businesses to continue to come forward with applications to the LEADER programme saying “this funding presents a great opportunity for groups and businesses across Mayo to deliver innovative and meaningful projects in their local areas and I would encourage any group or business with an idea to engage with the implementing partners to see how the ambitions for their area or business can be supported.”
