White House confirms US President Upcoming Visit to Mayo

Mayo Fine Gael TD Alan Dillon is delighted to welcome the confirmation from The White House that the President of the United States, Joe Biden, will be arriving in Ireland next Tuesday, April 11th.

President Biden’s visit to County Mayo is anticipated to take place on either Thursday or Friday of the same week, where the town of Ballina and people across Mayo are preparing to roll out the red carpet for its most famous descendant.

Deputy Dillon expresses his enthusiasm and pride in welcoming President Biden to County Mayo, stating, “We are honoured to host President Biden in our beautiful county, as it is a testament to the strong bond between Ireland and the United States. This visit will provide a unique opportunity to highlight the importance of our shared values and the deep-rooted connections between our people.”

During his visit, President Biden will engage in discussions with Irish officials on various topics, including celebrating the Good Friday Agreement and renewing the strong political, economic and personal ties that bind Ireland and the US together. President Biden’s Irish roots can be traced back to County Mayo, making this visit particularly special and meaningful for both him and the local community.

The Mayo TD said “this event is expected to draw significant international attention, with a press corps of over 1,000 journalists accompanying the president during his visit. This will provide County Mayo with an unparalleled opportunity to showcase its beauty, heritage, and cultural offerings to a massive global audience.

Deputy Dillon believes that the exposure from President Biden’s visit will have a lasting impact on County Mayo. “The attention from this event will undoubtedly elevate County Mayo’s profile on the world stage and contribute to increased tourism, investment, and cultural exchange between our two nations,” he added.
