05 Jan Additional Accommodation for Mountpleasant NS

– Funding approved under Additional Accommodation Scheme 2021;

– One of the first primary schools in Ireland to receive funding for 2021;

– Additional Accommodation comprising construction of two 15m2 set rooms.

Fine Gael TD, Alan Dillon, has received confirmation from the Dept of Education that funding has been awarded to Mountpleasant National School in Ballyglass.  The funding was awarded under the Additional Accommodation Scheme 2021, and was one of the first schools in the country to receive funding under the programme for this year.  The new accommodation will comprise of two 15m2 set rooms.

Deputy Dillon said: “It is great to see new funding made available for Mayo schools within the first week for 2021.  With almost 90 pupils enrolled at Mountpleasant NS, it is excellent to see the provision of extra accommodation at the school.  I am a strong believer in these labour intensive projects providing construction employment within the locality.”
