Clare Island receives €264,477 in funding for Community Centre

Mayo Fine Gael TD Alan Dillon is pleased to announce the approval of €264,477.47 in funding for the Cliara Development Company under the Community Centres Investment Fund (Category 2 and 3). This funding will enable the company to carry out essential upgrades and enhancements to their current facility on Clare Island.

Deputy Dillon expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the Cliara Development Company, stating, “This is fantastic news for Clare Island and the Cliara Development Company. The approved funding will significantly contribute to the improvement of their community centre facility, which in turn will benefit the entire island’s community.”

The Community Centres Investment Fund is designed to support the development and enhancement of community centers across the country. Through Category 2 and 3 funding, the Cliara Development Company will now be able to modernize their facility, making it more accessible and functional for the people of Clare Island.

Deputy Dillon is confident that the funding will have a hugely positive impact on the community. “Investing in our community centres is essential in fostering a strong sense of belonging and social cohesion. This funding will help the community on Clare Island provide a more welcoming and inclusive space for all residents and visitors of Clare Island to enjoy.”

Deputy Dillon extended his gratitude to Minister Heather Humphreys for her support in securing the funding following their appeal and applauds the Cliara Development Company for their dedication to the betterment of their community.
